HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEWS:
Sound Quality: 10 The sound is like "Petrucci In A Box." It also reminds me of Steve Vai's tone. Amazing distortion tone. The AMT sound clips sound professional, and I had no problem recreating some of these tones. The sound has that spongy breakup on the pick attack that you get when you play great tube amps, for example, like a Bogner Ecstasy 100B on the red channel. This is the most amazing distortion pedal that I have ever heard. It also records very well, as it has some sort of combo emulator on the output.
Overall Rating: 10 If you need that Petrucci sound (i.e. Mesa Boogie), or a tone that is similar to Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, then this pedal will do the trick.
Ease of Use: 10 I now own the Tube Platinum ...Fatal Tube...and Caifornia Sound...these pedals simply kick arse...ease of use..how about plug it in and start playing with a great sound striaght out of the box hows that for ease of use...this pedal sounds good at any setting ...hows that for ease of use..No directions needed.
Overall Rating: 10 I play primarily hard rock, traditional rock and roll, and blues. I've been playing for nearly twenty five years, though I'm coming back to playing regularly after a hiatus and have been updating my rig. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the best pedal I've ever bought - it just makes you look forward to picking up the guitar. I've had a number of disappointments with pedals over the years that just didn't live up to the hype or their reviews, but this one exceeded my expectations. I was getting plenty of Marshall-type distortion from my Marshall amp and the Tube King, but was looking for something more Mesa-like. I'm not enough of an expert to say whether this captures the Mesa sound, but whatever sound it is making, it absolutely smokes. It's probably tough to find one anywhere in the U.S. that you can demo, but if you can, it's well worth your time. I took a chance on this one and it paid off. |
