Description

ADDROCK BOOSTMASTER.

Been wrestling with the dilemma of choosing a boost pedal? Clean boost or treble boost? Or, have you been disenchanted by "transparent" boost pedals that in reality seem sterile or unresponsive? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, than have we got a boost for you!

The Addrock Boostmaster is a germanium powered boost pedal that at the flick of a switch becomes either a treble boost or a full range boost. The treble boost is a little sweeter than you might expect from a treble boost pedal. On an overdriven amp, it makes the harmonics just leap from your guitar. As a full range boost, the Boostmaster can turn your crunch into searing high gain tone, boost solos, or just add another dimension to your tone.

Is it squeaky clean or brown sounding? You decide! The drive control (input trim) allows you to limit the signal entering the pedal resulting in a cleaner or more grimy sound. The output control sort of does the same thing, but in a different way. The combination of the two can provide unlimited shades of boost tone. Additionally, the pedal responds well dynamically, adding a very natural and very subtle compression that will make your rig feel better as well and it works well with your wah! Of course it's true bypass with an LED and a DC jack. Very warm and creamy tone that's sure to be a hit the next time you fire up your rig!

HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEWS:

Overall Rating: 10
I love this pedal and will keep it in my arsenal. I would never sell it. It is really well-made, looks great, and gives me a great sound and feel. It provides just the edge to my pick attack that I was looking for, and I own numerous other clean boosts. But among them this one stands out for versatility and tone. I love the fact that the drive control provides some grit but the underlying tone of the guitar remains unmolested. It just seems to give me a larger and fuller tone without adding noise.

Over 2 years later and I have found a couple "new" ways to exploit the subtle yet enhancing qualites of this wonderful box. Lately I have been using the Boostmaster by turning the drive nearly full counter clockwise. I then use a mirror image setting on the output knob, or full clockwise. This pushes the just-breaking-up-tone of my 6V6 plexi clone into brownsville. Tremendous for blusey/rootsy or rock stuff. Running this into a boost or my Tim yields fat thick and detailed overdrive true to both my guitar amd amp.

Sound Quality: 10
This is the first pedal to make me understand what transparency of sound is all about. I use it in "full range" with the output knob at 9 o'clock and the drive knob at 2 o'clock. The "treble range" side of the mini-toggle is a significant shift in tone to the brighter and thinner side. The "full range" sound is simply fatter, rounder, and to my ear kind of "enhanced".  Playing clean or dirty, when you kick the Boostmaster on with my settings, the sound fattens up nicely, and it puts a "little hair" on it. To my ear this thing just seems to boost the right frequencies, because the sound cuts better in a very smooth and articulate way. It takes your best sound and makes it better! What more do you want?
