| KADEN EFFECTS CHIRPER.
A classic treble booster effect modeled after the famous Dallas
Rangemaster, the Chirper adds gain to higher notes resulting in a
perceptible presence added to your sound. Based on a single germanium
transistor, this simple circuit creates a subtle distortion at lower
settings and gradually increases at higher settings. It can be used to
overdrive an amp into distortion or used in conjunction with other
overdrive/ distortion pedals to create some very unique tones. Also, as
a recent upgrade, you get a 3-way tone selection switch which provides
the original late 60's Rangemaster tone, a mid boost, and a full boost.
Each transistor is tested and biased to 6.8 - 7v on the collector in order to get the best sound possible out of this circuit!
Equipped with true-bypass switching.
Power: 9v battery or a/c adapter (negative tip)
HARMONY CENTRAL USER REVIEWS:
Sound Quality: 9 I'm
using the Chirper mainly as a way to fatten up my Tele and it really
shines in this function (in the full boost mode). It really works well
with with Class A amps and the overdrive it produces is very "British"
to my ears. It doesn't sound like a pedal either, it really takes the
tone to the next level without sounding, well, like a pedal. I
looked at nearly all of the "boutique" range master clones out there.
Some sounded good, but were more than I wanted to spend on a booster.
Some didn't have a LED letting you know that the pedal was on. I after
writing to the various manufactures and reading reviews I decided to go
with the Chirper, and I'm glad I did.
Reliability: 10 I've
had the pedal for a few months now and it's built like a tank! The
wiring is very neat and tidy, and I have no reason to suspect it will
fail. I'm using it on gigs without even thinking about needing a back
up. |
