Durham Electronics designed the SEX DRIVE pedal to fulfill the very particular needs of good friend Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan, ARC Angels, David Bowie, Grammy winning producer, all around musician). The goal was to build a clean-boost pedal that would supply additional bottom end and sustain when needed. The pedal would have to provide a boost that would not alter the original quality of the amplifier's natural tone. Most important, was to not add a nasal tone like the other pedals in his effects graveyard. The result was the SEX DRIVE pedal. Though it wasn't my intention to go into production of effect pedals, the demand has been so overwhelming I found I had no choice.

USER MANUAL:Thank you for purchasing a SEX DRIVE pedal. This is a boost pedal, not an
overdrive/distortion pedal. Placement of the pedal, in the chain of effects will make all the
difference in how the pedal responds. For a BOOST feature, place the SEX DRIVE pedal at the end of your gain boosting effects
chain (overdrive, distortion, fuzz). Placing the SEX DRIVE prior to other gain boosting effects will have less of a
boosting effect, but will increase the gain of the effect it is driving
causing more distortion.
COMPRESSION - The compression feature will allow a slight
amount of gain, depending on the setting. This is a subtle compression felt
more in the fingers than heard. When switch
is in the �hard� position, the GAIN control will have less of an effect, but will add the most �grit� to your sound. The �soft�
setting will give you slightly less. The �off� position will have the
greatest boost response.
TONE - The Tone on
the Sex Drive really should be labeled as �Presence�. This is not a
traditional tone circuit adding or cutting treble. The Tone
control is very subtle adding clarity to your sound without altering your
overall tone. When the Tone control is turned all the way up you will get a
substantial treble increase. If you can just barely tell that the Tone is
working, then it is working
correctly.
LEVEL - The Level control on the Sex Drive is a Master
Volume.
GAIN -The Gain control on the Sex Drive will give you
just a bit of �grit� on your tone, but will not get you into �overdrive�
mode. Any overdriven sound you get is due to
the two hundred percent signal boost the Sex Drive is able to produce.
This means you are getting natural tube
overdrive from your amps preamp section.
INPUT / OUTPUT � The Input jack is located on the
right side of the pedal when looking at your pedal�s face plate. When
you plug a cable into the input jack, the
9Volt battery inside will be activated. If you are not using an external power
supply when the pedal is not in use, it is
best to unplug cable from the input jack in order to save battery life. The
Output jack is located on the left side of
the pedal.
WARRANTY - Guaranteed to original purchaser for the period
of Two Years.
