Possibly the most versatile distortion pedal ever created. Seriously, this pedal has amazing tone, and massive gain (but can be backed off into OD). Notes will sustain forever! Want an over saturated tube amplifier distortion sound? Want that infamous Marshall Plexi style guitar tone? How about that rectified hard rock tone with bite? Searching for that classic rock distortion pedal? Looking to get the sounds of some of the all time greatest guitarists such as Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck, EVH (classis brown sounds), Joe Satriani, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Kurt Cobain, Brian May, Joe Perry, and list list goes on. So what do you write as an introduction to such a creation? It's not easy, but let's first explain how so many sounds are possible with the BOUTEEK Preamp Distorter pedal.

The major selling point of the BOUTEEK Distorter, unlike most distortion pedals with one gain knob, is on the Distorter there are TWO gain knobs. Here's how it works. One gain knob is ok, but limits the overall gain and drive STYLE of the pedal. The Distorter was carefully designed with dual gain knobs "Pre Gain" and "Drive". This is where the capabilities and differences from your average everyday pedals are visible. The "Pre Gain" knob, for ease of explanation, acts as a "soft-clipped" style distortion gain. It is smoother and more rounded sounding. When backed off at low setting, overdrive tones are achievable. The "Drive" knob, where your palette begins to open; is the second gain stage in the BOUTEEK Distorter. It is best to describe this gain stage as a "hard-clipped" distortion sound. It has more bite and grip than the "Pre Gain" stage, and more drive gain than you will ever need. The most amazing thing about this pedal is that BOUTEEK has separated these two styles of gain into two separate knobs. On other pedals, if you're lucky, may offer these options; but with a flip of a toggle switch. BOUTEEK has given the guitarist TOTAL control over the gain stages, and best of all, they are BOTH active at the SAME TIME for total customization and blending!

Now that is has been explained about the two different and active gain knobs and styles, let's explain how this can be useful to you. For the classic rock player, they may choose to have the "Pre Gain" level higher than the "Drive". That will give it overall more smooth style distortion but with a tiny bit of punch to it. Modern rock players may choose to use more of the "Drive" gain than the "Pre Gain". You see the point we're getting at here. Two gain channels equals more flexibility. Also try only using one gain stage, with the other on zero.

OK, so you think, "WOW, this sounds great!". Well, there's more. BOUTEEK's goal in creating the Preamp Distorter was simple; more gain options, more tone options, small footprint, and then some. In addition to the dual gain controls is a TOTALLY USABLE "Style" switch. The toggle mode lets you choose from "VIN Vintage" and "RCT Rectified" operation modes. With both gain stages still in tact, this option let's the player add even more tone sculpting capabilities. We swear this will cover the sounds of at least half of the distortion pedals on the market today!

The "VIN" mode is your classic EVH sounds, brown sounds, and Eric Johnson syle tones. Not to give away secrets; but BOUTEEK has confessed that EJ's guitar tones were a huge influence in the creation of the VIN channel. Designers at BOUTEEK could never get that "just right" EJ tones with other pedals out there so they decided to throw a bit of that ultimate guitar tone into this pedal. It passes all the right amount of all frequencies from your guitar, and boosts the ones critical in achieving these types of tones. OK, we're leaking a secret, BOUTEEK's favorite EJ tone setting is the Preamp Distorter on VIN mode, the "Pre Gain" at 11 o'clock, the "Drive" at 2 o'clock, the "Tone" at 2 o'clock, and the "Volume" at 1 o'clock. Add that with a cranked tube amp pushing the pedal, a lush reverb, delay, and WOW... "Righteous", "Cliffs of Dover". Crank the "Pre Gain" to 5 o'clock, lower the "Drive" to "barley-on", and... uuhhmmm; "Camels Night Out". Besides these tones, the VIN mode is great for early classic rock, and many of the sought after tones of the 80's and 90's.

Alternating the toggle from VIN mode to RCT mode will enter you into the "Rectified" tone circuit of the Distorter. This channel of the pedal is targeted for the more modern and hard rock style guitarists. The RCT channel can get you tones anywhere from Rush, Nirvana, Satriani, Metallica, Pantera, etc. Any style with a saturated rectified compressed tube head sound. The difference between this setting and the VIN setting is that there are actually dual LED diodes constantly clipping, compressing, and rectifying the guitar signal. Open the back of the pedal, play with a decent amount of gain and volume and watch the LED rectifiers light up and pulse as they are hard at work! RCT mode is great for getting that natural tube saturated distortion. The "Pre Gain" off and the "Drive" at off-10 o'clock will give a great saturated tube sound. As with the VIN mode, both gain stages may be used to achieve whatever tone you're after. YES, it's OK! Crank the "Pre Gain" AND" Drive" together at the same time and get into metal mode.

Overall, this is a Distortion box for ALL styles and ALL players. You will honestly be gladly surprised when you plug this baby in. We are certain it will become you favorite distortion pedal, simply because of how much it can cover.

Lastly, not that it matters, as you're already sold on one anyway. The BOUTEEK Preamp Distortion was designed of course with total TRUE BYPASS circuitry. Even if you have no battery in the unit, no power supply attached; the pedal will still pass signal to the next pedal on your board, just like it wasn't there at all. Secondly, BOUTEEK knows that every little last feature and detail matter in pedal design these days. The Distorter not only accepts standard 9V DC (-) center power adapters as a means of power, BUT has a second DC OUTPUT jack on the left side of the pedal so you may link the to power your next 9V DC (-) center pedal and use the Distorter as a daisy chain to prevent clutter and mess on your board!

Please note that it is best, if planning to daisy chain from your BOUTEEK pedal, to use a power adapter as the DC input and not a battery. Use at your discretion and always be sure to check the miliAmps that your next pedal is feeding. NOTE: The Distorter will only pass DC 9V OUT voltage if a signal jack is plugged into the input jack of the pedal.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS:
" Grab it while you can! I've been trying to snag a BOUTEEK pedal for 6 months now. They are hard to come by. The tone and settings are phenomenal. The description is the truth! This is a workhorse! I bought it only cauz it mentioned about the Ej style distortion. I was able to get that and many more I was not expecting. This is one of my top 5 fav distortions and I own over 30! It's the real deal. There is not one pedal that is a do-all. It doesn't exist, but this comes close!! Thanks!"

"Geeze, where was this thing before spending all my money searching for other pedals?? Have taken a MI Crunch Box, Fulltone OCD, and BB Plus+ off my crowded pedalboard and have replaced with the Bouteek Distortion. I liked it for several reasons. It got the sounds I wanted, right away, without adding more pedals. Besides, the sound quality is natural. Still adds its own touch of tone circuitry but feels like I'm back to playing my rig again, bringing out the quality of my amp. Great job Bouteek. Should be on everyones board."

"Easy to setup my settings, super simple and I like that. I hate pedals with programs, too many knobs, and all that other stuff. Good analog sound. Can get really gainy if you need it too but can still back off into overdrive. Works AMAZINGLY well with volume knob on guitar. A++"
