The
HUSH system, as well as all other noise reduction systems suffers from
one major problem inherent in their design: The system cannot be
immediately responsive to both very short-term staccato notes and long
slowly decaying signals. The typical downward expander noise reduction
system suffers from a dead zone in the release response characteristic,
which causes a compromise in tracking both fast decaying notes and long
sustained notes. The Decimator design offers a novel approach to
tracking the envelope of the input signal called Time Vector
Processing. Due to this novel approach in controlling the expander, the
Decimator system will instantly respond to short staccato notes and, at
the same time, will provide a very slow ripple free control of long
sustained notes. This means that the Decimator noise reduction system
is the most transparent and highest performance noise reduction system
available.
The Decimator Pro Rack uses both Dynamic filtering
and low-level downward expansion. A Time Vector Processing circuit
controls the release response of both the downward expander and dynamic
filter. The input of the Decimator Pro Rack is TRS � inch balanced to
eliminate any common mode noise. Both channels can be used at a �10 or
+4dBU reference level. We have also designed the Decimator Pro Rack
using high quality studio grade voltage controlled amplifiers for both
the dynamic filer and downward expander. This provides dynamic range
noise performance of greater than 118db. This translates into the most
transparent noise reduction system you�ve ever heard.
The
Decimator Pro Rack is extremely easy to use; simply inset the Decimator
at the end of your signal chain or, insert the Decimator Pro Rack in
the effects loop of your amplifier to clean up the noise present at the
amplifier input as well as the noise in the amplifiers pre-amp section.
Packaged in a single space 19-inch rack, the Decimator Pro Rack offers
the highest possible performance in a single ended noise reduction

I'm
quite sure I work in the absolute noisiest, buzziest club EVER! As the
house sound man I get an endless stream of bands through and every
guitarist is horrified at the nasty buzz their rig gets in here, almost
unusable if you step on the overdrive. The problem does not even lie in
the buildings electrical system as it has been tested over and over.
The buzz eminates from the "air" from possible neighboring businesses
like taxi, phone companies. As soon as you plug your guitar in and
create a loop you get just the worst chainsaw buzz possible. I'm also a
player/soundman for about 38 years now and I've never heard anything
like this and NOTHING would solve it, UNTIL, I met Buck from ISP! His
Decimator was the answer to my prayers. This big chrome brick just
squashed 100% of the buzz instantly and the rigs now sound like they
are on standby it's that quiet! Buck and his team at ISP are awesome
and very helpful and I talked to the man himself when he answered the
phone. Buck was the man who invented the Hush system btw! This
Decimator takes noise removal to a new level and it's in a very easy to
use foot pedal. NO rig should be without one of these if you play venue
to venue or even just your living room, where it cured my buzzy house
too in 2 seconds flat.
