The new dual-tube Overdrive/Distortion in an originally designed AMT box with a 1.5mm stainless steel deck panel preventing tubes and controls from mechanical damage. This is truly a road worthy pedal! The semi-parametric MF equalizer is the major distinguishing feature of this device. Using TWO mid control knobs (MID and MID FREQ) you can not only increase or decrease MF levels but also chose the band pass central frequency. This will give you a chance to control your instrument's tone more flexibly not offered with other regular effects. Each of the two foot switches is equipped with optical sensors which control the electromechanic relay switching between modes on/off by means of a microcontroller. Thus, we have eliminated the problem related to mechanical contacts wear-out due to frequent effects selection as in regular pedal effects. All AMT pedals are designed to sound equally as good through an amp or direct recorded due to built-in cabinet emulation circuitry.Perfect for live performance and in the studio. It's very easy to use. 6 Knobs. Can't get easier than this!! With 4 band to taking care of the EQ, you have a pretty wide selection of sound. Great!!
Sound Quality: 10 This pedal is great!! I owned various high end boutique pedal like Fetto, Landgraff, AyA, Box of Metal, Box of Rock, ect! You named it, probably I have it.. This pedal really great for rock to metal!! This pedal powered by 13 volt adapter. Plenty of headroom, great dynamics, it has 2 channel for crunch and lead. Sounds like Mattias Eklundh!!

Very easy to use. Standard controls with a twist. Gain, bass, treble volume but the mid control is unique. You can control the mid frequency as well as the level. Very cool! It has 2 outputs, one to amp and one for running direct out to a p.a. or for recording. It has built in speaker emulation that sounds killer. It comes standard with 2 Electro Harmonix 12AX7 tubes and it runs on a supplied 15v power adapter. Two optical foot switches that controlyour choice of overdrive or distortion. The controls and the tubes are both protected by a thick steel plate that gives the pedal a modern, classy high tech but rugged look. It is one of the coolest pedals I have ever seen!

I play stock Caparison guitars through several amps. I use this pedal with a Visual Sound Workhorse. I also run analog delay, buddah wah and sometimes chorus. THIS PEDAL SOUNDS AMAZING. I am a huge fan of AMT pedals and Mattias Eklundh. I wanted this pedal the first time I saw it. I was actually one of the first people to get one of these bad boys and wow, it was worth the wait. The overdrive side is smooth yet crunchy but it cleans up perfectly with the volume knob. It has enough gain for classic rock and can get into blues and jazz with a turn of the volume knob. The distortion side is everything I was looking for. Tons of gain, super responsive tone controls and amazing tube crunch. It is different in that it is FULL of harmonics. Squeals and screams just fly off the fretboard! The tone is rich and warm. It can easily do everything from extreme metal to rock to searing lead tones to whatever. It is also very responsive to your volume knob. It does have some hiss/noise that you would expect with any tube preamp but not that bad. I was able to get a sweet lead tone in about 10 seconds. It is hard to find a bad setting. If you are looking for the Mattias tone, you can easily get it. It is very much like a tube amp with switchable gain. I think it is the best pedal I have owned.

This thing is built like a tank. Heavy metal chassis with a thick steel plate protecting the tubes and controls. Super reliable optical switches and metal jacks. Truly a road worthy pedal just like they say. I have other AMT products and I think they are some of the best built pedals in the world.

I love this pedal. I bought it sight unseen because of the company, Mattias Eklundh, the features and the fact of it being a tube preamp. I love it. I would buy another if stolen. It is very musical with tons of harmonic overtones that compliment my playing style. It is versatile, easy to use, and has great tone controls. The only thing I don't like is the 15v power supply because it won't work with my pedal power. I understand though, they needed the voltage for the tubes. Shoulda gone with 18v instead. Some people are going to complain about the noise but that is what a gate is for. It is no different than a high gain amp. If you want a tone that sounds like it is from a killer tube amp, this pedal is for you.
