It differs from the pinnacle in that it is a tighter distortion, more like preamp tube distortion where the pinnacle is a bit looser, more like power tube distortion. I've noticed that some guys like play their distortion pedals that emulate marshall tones THROUGH a marshall. Let's be honest - I can play a chorus pedal through a Marshall and get a very "Marshally" sounding chorus pedal, In my opinion this isn't a fair or accurate representation of a pedal. Because of this, I record my clips and videos through everyday affordable guitars and amps in order to be as accurate as possible.

It features delay time, level and repeat controls, as well as a tone control which alters the flavour of the repeats (hi-cut filter). The unit uses two 4096 stage BBDs providing a max delay time of 600ms with quiet operation, (no clock noises or hiss). One footswitch selects effect/bypass (true bypass), and the secondary footswitch allows selection between a short and long delay path (~300ms and ~600ms). This enables finer control over the short delay range; effectively a delay and slapback selection at your foot.

The audio signal path is analog, but the tremolo effect is controlled digitally via opto technology. The Empress Tremolo has to be heard to be believed. You can modulate your sound with three different waveforms. An asymmetrical tremolo was modelled after a '65 Fender Vibrolux (brown face) to give you the fullest tremolo sound possible. A square wave can be utilized if you're after a harder sound. And if you're looking for a more normal tremolo, you can use the triangle wave setting. The Empress Trem averages your last four taps so it plays in sync with your music. You can also choose different tap to tremolo rate ratios. 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4 are available. An exclusive feature to the Empress Trem. You're able to set two different rates, and switch between them using the tap tempo stompswitch. First, there is the feed back loop (with photo sensitive eye), which enhances effects placed in the SEND and RETURN loop of the TBD. Second, there is the oscillating fuzz, which adds an amazing amount of texture (and if needed, chaos) to the effect in the feedback loop. The feed back loop runs before the oscillating fuzz, and they are both seperate, which means you can have one on at a time, or both.
