The Rockett Boost is a pedal designed from necessity. In the effects world there are thousands of pedals, many of which are based on an already existing circuit. Rockett's objective was to create a circuit that can take your instrument to a different level of sonic quality. Rockett's intentions were to combine the world of Hi-Fi music and the world of the guitar purist. In Rockett's experiences with the variety of pedals on the market and the over saturated boutique world of effects and amplifiers, they thought something different was needed.

Our goal with the Rockett Boost was to create a pedal that not only sounds phenomenal itself but also makes other pedals in the chain sound phenomenal. We understand that tone is purely subjective and what may sound amazing to some sounds terrible to others. That is why we strive for sonic purity…to make your instrument and/or amp of choice sound as good as they can. In other words “transparency” which is an over used description of every pedal out there. What is “transparency” to us….it is making your Stratocaster, Telecaster, Les Paul etc…sound as though they were plugged straight into your ears. However, in saying this we are completely aware of the fact that more so than just sound there is a feel associated with great instruments, amps and pedals. That is why our pedals have been designed by experienced, soulful and complex players. Ever body strives for that Cranked amp sound when referring to the old Marshall crunch but with Fender amps it is different…some want pristine, some want bluesy or some just combine them all. The reality of it all is that some pedals work better with certain amps. That is what we have avoided with the Rockett Boost, try it with anything you have and it will sound better.

There is a reason why none of the switches and knobs are labeled...It looks killer without it!!! However, if you follow this link: Switch Functions you can see what does what! We also want to promote using your ears to make the choices in sounds and not your eyes, in other words we do not want you to have pre conceived expectations of what each feature does for your tone. As guitar players we can all admit that a typical boost pedal is pretty well a set and forget process, however, Rockett's Rockett Boost is anything but typical and when the need for variety presents itself on Rockett's Rockett Boost a simple flick of a switch is all you need.

You have a level control and a tone control but no gain pot…for a reason. What we offer are varying gain structures operated by simple switches. This is purely for use in enhancing your amp, guitar and additional effects. One gain stage works better for one person and the variety of other gain stages work for the next person. The Boost/Cut Switch gives you variety to add to any of your chosen tones. It gives you the options to boost signal a bit more or simply take boost off or "Cut" overall boost

FEATURES:
1. Line Buffer: Rockett's switchable line buffer is a great feature but some do not require it or need it that is why we made ours selectable. We do realize that as the pedal addiction takes hold that down the line those who do not require a line buffer will soon find out that with 35 pedals in a row….they need it!!
2. Clean Boost: Rockett's clean boost is simply that a “clean boost” so that you can take the sound you have and boost it without affecting the overall tone or gain, however, once again you have choices of various gain stages to play with.
3. Treble Boost: All of us have experienced the Rangemaster treble boost at some point in time. I am sure all of us have the same complaint with this pedal too…noisy. In fact in my opinion it is more of a frequency cut than a frequency boost leaving you with a boosted hi-mid and no sparkle to speak of. Rockett's design is more true to the term treble boost. Think pristine clarity that chimes for days that can be enhanced by various gain stages.
4. Full Boost: The Full Boost side is a monster but make no mistake this is not a distortion pedal it is a full boost pedal that slams your amp as hard as you want it to. This will take your amp and your tone to its pinnacle. You will not hear compression or loss of treble, you just hear more balls and more dynamics!

Now with all of the main functions in place what we have is the ability to tailor these functions to Rockett's tastes.

If you do the numbers you are left with 21 different tonal configurations. That is 3 effect switches and 7 positions available…lets just say more than enough! Now add in the line buffer switch for functionality in use with multiple pedals, lets just say more than enough. Now all of these configurations can be carved by the tone knob and volume control to suit your needs.

This Hand Wired circuit is TRULY unique. It combines things that have not yet been used in the guitar world. But everything has already been invented and or tried for guitar tone right???? No way, in fact, we have learned that many boutique makers are just recreating already built circuits that originated in the 50’s, 60’s 70’s and 80’s. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just NOT thinking outside the box and creating a new platrform for improved tone. We wanted to start ALL over. We have spent thousands of dollars on pedals that claim to do so much then to receive it, and be disappointed after auditioning it. It sounds almost identical to the last pedal! I’m sure this has happened before to you as well. This circuit incorporates multiple acoustic JFET preamps used in multiple ways and various cascading layers to create everything from a very transparent clean boost all the way to a very large sledge hammer hitting the front end of the amp. All of this while producing clarity and your choice of 21 different tonal configurations. With the help of some engineering Guru’s we were able to produce inards, design, and layout that rival that of the highest grade hi fi world of components.

HIGHEST QUALITY PARTS AND COMPONENTS:
Every component inside Rockett's pedal is soldered with QUAD EUTECTIC SOLDER Ultra pure, tin/lead/silver/ copper, Quade utectic .032 solder Improves overall solder joint durability and musical qualities. EVERY solder joint within this pedal has Cardas Activated rosin flux applied for protection and finish.

Rockett's circuit is protected and shielded by Rockett's state of the art enclosure. Most people would think we built it this way for just a look, well not true, it has a very specific function in shielding all of this goodness from the outside world. Copper provides shielding against radiated EMI (electromagnetic interference) and ESD (electrostatic discharge). It is particularly effective in applications requiring resistance and attenuation stability in very difficult environmental conditions. Thus improves your tone.

This pedal is by far the best boost I have used as stated in my previous posts. I want to comment on the reviewer stating that the Stephenson FMD is the same pedal. I own both and did not borrow either. The FMD is indeed a great pedal and I know Mark Stephenson personally. Mark even stated to me today when I asked him that these are two different beasts. My Rockett Boost sounds far superior to the FMD and when you crack it open you can see why. Completely different pedals. Mark did confirm they are based on the same circuit but Rockett uses extremely expensive components. Rockett Pedals is partly Mark's company. As mark put it to me it is sort of a Lexus/Toyota relationship. Just no compariosn of the two pedals. The Rockett has way more output, way more clarity and way better feel. Sounds like a schill to me previous poster.

Best Boost I've heard. I'm using it with the buffer on. The buffer is very subtle and helps me maintain good high end response thru 4 pedals and 25 ft of cable. Every setting sounds good to me. You can set it up to be a carbon copy of your clean tone at a higher volume or use it as light gain pedal or a treble booster.

In a nutshell, this is the most versatile, hi-fi sounding boost on the market. I have gone through countless pedals in the boost/overdrive realm, and this one honestly is on the TOP of the heap. Very easy to use; that having been said it has the most "tweakability" of any conventional boost out there. The website www.rockettpedals.com describes the features of the pedal in great detail, thus I won't repeat that info here. FYI, I have the upgraded version of the Boost.
